He is one of the executives, “Hashira”, of Demon Slaying Corps.

He is cynic. While he is able to judge things calmly, he has a terribly sharp tongue, directly making sarcastic remarks to people. He keeps stance “Demons are the enemies and I never trust them”. That’s why he never tried to get along with Tanjirou or Nezuko.

However, he admitted their hard work and took a really good care of them when they trained themselves (even though he was a little strict). It’s rare in this era but he has odd-eye and the eye sight of one side is weak. He is said to have a congenital hereditary disease. The white snake that is around his neck is a boy, named “Kaburamaru”.

He has “Breath of the Serpent (Hebi no Kokyuu)”

The breath style focuses on twisting and bending the sword like how a serpent slithers. It’s swift and accurate. Among all the members of “Hashira”, he has the least power next to Kochou Shinobu. To make it up, he fights with his super accurate attack.
