Based on Tsutsui Yasutaka (Japanese playwright and novelist)’s detective novel written in 1975. It has been made into a radio drama, manga and live action TV drama. In the live action TV drama, the main protagonist, Kanbe Daisuke, was played as a woman.

Katou Haru, a detective, used to be the ace of the first investigation division, but while investigating, he shot the gun by mistake and had an innocent person injured, which became his trauma and unable him to shot the gun anymore. He ended up being sent to a smaller division.

Kanbe Daisuke, a detective, was newly assigned to that division.

His attitude towards solving the cases was always very positive but his personality was cold and he was a realist. Daisuke judged everything by its monetary value, even human lives. Kato, on the other hand, believed that there was more to life than money and he was cherishing his career as a detective. Yes, they didn’t get along.

Those totally opposite two detectives paired up with each other, which was supposed to be on the pretence of training Kanbe Daisuke by Katou Haru. However, Kanbe Daisuke perfectly solves various cases happening in towns, using “monetary wealth”.

Not all the detectives have justice.

Kanbe Daisuke, who uses any kind of monetary wealth to solve the crimes, started to be called “Fugou Keiji”……!
