What is Dr.STONE anyway?

This SF x Science x Survival manga was serialized in Shonen Jump. It was completed in March 2022 and its anime Season 3 will be made into an anime in March 2023!

Dr. Stone started serializing in Shonen Jump since 2017. It is a SF x Science x Survival manga!
One day, mysterious flush light came down to the earth and all the living things on the earth were mineralized including humans. After 3700 years later, some of the humans who were mineralized started reviving again. The stones have fallen off from their bodies.
The main character, Ishigami Senkuu, got revived from being mineralized. The stone that his body was covered got nitric acid (NHO3) by chance and it resolved the stone. Since Senkuu really liked science, he understood what happened quickly and tried to resolve stoned friends. All the civilization perished on the earth, but he invented various things to be able to live like before. His survival life has begun!
In the anime Season 2, Senkuu’s rival, Shishiou Tsukasa, and Senkuu start battling each other Senkuu believed that he should save all the humans who were mineralized on the earth. On the other hand, Tsukasa believed that he should select to save only certain people - pure hearted young people. That way, he thinks that the world would be better place than it was before. Tsukasa and Senkuu started fighting over their different visions.
In Season 1, Senkuu and his friends help each other to resolve the mineralization and try to develop things that were needed for living. In the Season 2, another strong character, Shishiou Tsukasa, appeared. He and Senkuu have different visions and started fighting each other.

New character, Nanami Ryuusui will appear! Special story of Ryuusui will be described!
The 60 min special “one night only” anime episode will describe about this new character, Nanami Ryuusui. It will be a bridge episode between Season 2 and Season 3. The battles between Senkuu and Tsukasa have settled down, so now Senkuu will challenge to reveal the secret of mineralizations and go across the ocean to visit the different continent.
Senkuu created various things by using his knowledge of science, but he does not know anything about ocean and sailing. One day, he got information about Nanami Ryuusui. He is the son of large maritime industry, Nanami Zaibatsu. Nanami Ryuusui was mineralized.
Ryuusui was famous for being a true sailor since he was in middle school. He was traveling around the world by his yacht. Senkuu needed his skills in the ocean, so he resolved Ryuusui from being in the stone and asked for his help in order to go across the ocean. Ryuusui gave him a condition if he helps Senkuu. He wants “something” in return for being a sea captain for Senkuu.
This special episode is very important to connect between Season 2 and 3! Please do not miss it! The original manga was completed in March 2023. Anime is also moving toward the climax! It may be a good idea to review all the episode from Season 1 now!
