Actually, I have one anime that I started to watch every week since the beginning of July...... I knew a little about this anime by some rumors before but I binge-read manga and watched 1st season anime!
It was creepy and scary! But for sure...... I can’t wait to watch 2nd season...... So, today! I’ll be featuring such a scary summer anime!

I bet many of you have heard of this title, Made in Abyss, before. I’ve heard of it too but I didn’t have time to watch its anime or read the original manga...... BUT! I finally watched and read them!
So, I’ll be sharing some info with you, trying to avoid giving you many spoilers so those who aren’t familiar with Made in Abyss can even enjoy reading it!

What is Made in Abyss in the first place?

Made in Abyss is a Japanese manga series written by Tsukushi Akihito-Sensei. It’s been serialized on the website and irregularly updated. As for the manga version, over 3.3 million copies have been sold throughout the world and its movie is now being made too.
The genre is dark fantasy.
The best part is that it has a unique setting and the worldview. While you see unrealistic and mysterious creatures or weird machines in the story, nothing like magic exists. The illustrations are cute but sometimes they get cruel because the storyline contains some shocking development. That’s why people give pro and con ratings such as “It was so cruel” or “If the characters were not cute (in the shocking development), I couldn’t stand it.”
Made in Abyss was a well-known masterpiece before anime aired and once it aired in 2017, it went viral! So many people got addicted to this unique and mysterious worldview and a shocking development!

What Is Made in Abyss About?

As you see in Episode 1 of 2nd Season, the story is set in the “giant hole” called Abyss. Humans have solved various secrets in this world but the ones in this hole still remains secret......
There exists the layers depending on how deep it goes into the hole. Each layer has its own ecosystem and culture and people in each layer live in their own standard. Adventurers go down to the hole to solve such a mysterious place called Abyss but......
There exists the Curse in Abyss......!
Once you get into Abyss and try to get out, you are forced to have an extraordinary “burden”! If the place you went is somewhere shallow, your symptoms are light such as dizziness or headache but if you try to come outside from the deeper spot in the hole, the chances are, you might be dead! Because of this intensive burden, Abyss hasn’t been able to be solved for years while those who has once gotten in there haven’t been able to come out.
What’s more, there exists some fierce creatures wandering about in Abyss too. Despite of such dangers, people haven’t given up going down there. Because they want to know what the sacred secret in the bottom of the hole is......!
In Episode 1 of 2nd Season, Vueloeluko’s group and Riko’s group separately walked down there! Vueloeluko and his buddies had tried it way before Riko and her buddies tried but...... Are they going to meet in the hole this time? The story goes on to the 6th layer next......!
In anime’s 1st season and its movie, Riko starts to go into Abyss and arrives in the 5th layer! If you want to catch up with 2nd Season, you should check out 1st season’s anime and its movie!
The storyline is pretty deep and hard, so I advise you to watch it when you are healthy!

One of the best parts about Abyss is that it has a unique culture and an ecosystem, where adventurers go through surprising incidents and make bonds each other. Guess what? You can experience the world yourself! The game releases in September 2022!

As I saw the trailer posted just the other day, there seemed to be two parts: the mode where you experience stories as Riko, and the original mode where you can create your own adventurers and quest!
For both modes, your life is not guaranteed but isn’t it attractive that you can find out what and how all the adventurers went through in Abyss......?
So, you guys! Why don’t you check out 1st Season’s anime and 2nd one now on air too? It’s quite a shocking storyline but it’s so deep and attractive just like Abyss, where we can feel thrilled with unknown existences......!
