In this article, I'd like to introduce you to one of the most highly anticipated anime of Spring 2023!

I've already read the original manga version! I'm very curious to see how it will be adapted into an anime! If you haven't heard of it yet, I urge you to watch it! Along with my impressions and thoughts on this manga, here's what it's all about!

If I had to describe the story of this manga simply, I would say that it depicts the 'light and dark side of the glamorous entertainment industry!'

The story is about a girl named Ai, “the central figure of a very popular idol group,” who arrives at a rural hospital.

A doctor named Amamiya Gorou, who worked at the hospital, was also a fan of Ai, influenced by his love for Sarina, a girl who had passed away and was a patient he had treated four years earlier.

However, Gorou was surprised to hear why Ai came to this rural hospital. Ai is secretly pregnant and wants to give birth without telling the world! She doesn't want to tell who the father is, and says that she wants to pursue happiness both as an idol and as a mother. Ai's determination is genuine, and Gorou decides to seriously help Ai give birth.

However,

The day Ai gives birth, Gorou is killed!

What took Gorou's life was a stalker who had been chasing Ai! About to reveal himself, he pushed Gorou off a cliff! Gorou slowly closes his eyes, praying for Ai's successful delivery, and when he next opens his eyes......

What a surprise! Gorou was reincarnated as Aqua, the twin boy that Ai gave birth to! And what's more! The other half of the twins, Ruby, is Serina, a girl who used to be Gorou's patient! Thus, Gorou had been reincarnated as the child of his supporting idol......in other words, Oshi no Ko!

Now that I've explained all this, you're probably thinking, “Oh, it's a modern-day, but fantasy-ish story?” I thought so, too! But...... this is where it all starts! This is where Oshi no Ko gets interesting!

The manga, Oshi no Ko, won various manga awards in 2021 and quickly gained recognition and popularity!

Why has it been such a hit? The reason is that the story is just so interesting!! The unpredictable plot development goes on and on, and it incorporates many different elements in one manga work!

The comic is moderately mysterious, very serious, and you can't take your eyes off the story as it unfolds...... so much happens in the story that I had to write a note at the beginning of this article!

Who is the stalker who took Gorou's life at the beginning of the story, and who is Aqua and Ruby's fatherto begin with? Various events will affect Ai, who continues her idol activities, as well as Ai's children, Aqua and Ruby......!

The Spring 2023 anime lineup is quite diverse. And I think Oshi no Ko has a well-structured story! It's not a one-episode complete anime, but an anime where every episode is a thought-provoking discussion of developments and endings......that's what it's like! The manga version is really interesting, so I'm looking forward to seeing how it will be adapted to an anime, and maybe there will be some additional direction in the anime version regarding the mysteries that have yet to be revealed! I'll definitely check it out!
