Now, this time I'd like to introduce some merchandise featuring Luffy in his Gear 5 form! But before that...... some of you might be wondering what Gear 5 is, so I’d like to give a brief explanation.

What is Gear 5?

Gear 5 is the form of an awakened Luffy. Since the beginning of the story, the Devil Fruit Luffy ate was recognized as the 'Gomu Gomu no Mi,' but it turns out it is actually the 'Hito Hito no Mi Mythical Zoan Model “Nika”'.

“Nika” is a legendary warrior who once existed, also called the god of the sun, and is said to have had a rubber body as a characteristic. Gear 5 is the form in which Luffy draws out the true power of the hidden Hito Hito no Mi, and also taps into the power of Nika, who was once a legendary warrior.

I think that about covers the explanation of Gear 5! So, it's the form Luffy takes for the final battle, harnessing the true power of the Hito Hito no Mi! In the anime broadcasted in Japan, this form was finally unveiled in August 2023!
