It’s an original Japanese anime television series, now airing in “noitaminA.”

The series is part of the “Zutto Oen Project 2011 + 10……”, focusing on the boys in the Tohoku area, commemorating the 10th anniversary of the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami. To create the rhythmic gymnastics scenes, they actually have the pro-rhythmic gymnastics athletes and have it reflected through motion capture.

The main protagonist, Futaba Shotaro, is a boy, who was a member of the baseball club in his middle school days.

However, he was never chosen to be an official player as a member of the baseball club during the middle school day.

One day, after Shotaro finishes his last baseball game in his middle school, he happens to see four strange boys in the park, on the way back home.

It looks like they are all doing group warm-up, trying to make complicated poses. Then they go into the stadium close by.

In the stadium, he sees the rhythmic gymnastics competition going on. The four boys that he sees earlier are doing a perfect and beautiful performance as well.

Shotaro, who is an amateur, even thinks their performance is by far good. However, the result ends up…… 8th place! It’s incredibly low……!

One student teaches that to Shotaro. The student also tells him that their achievement placing in 8th is such a good result with that disadvantage. They performed so perfectly and beautifully and ended up getting penalties just because they didn’t have enough members…… That day, Shotaro learns that the rhythmic gymnastics world is beautiful but strict at the same time.

Then time has passed since that day…… Shotaro is now a high school student. He enters the same high school as those four rhythmic gymnastics members.

He wants to give it a try. He wants to challenge something. Although he has no experience in rhythmic gymnastics, he comes to want to get into the rhythmic gymnastics world.

Although Shotaro has no experiences, the members welcome him warmly.

However…… another student who joins the club in the same timing is…… Misato Ryoya, who has won the 2nd place in the Rhythmic Gymnastics Junior Competition!!

Are these two going to win the championship with four other Senpai members……?
