What Is MONSTER HUNTER Rise?

MONSTER HUNTER Rise is one of the games from MONSTER HUNT Series, which released on March 26th 2021 by Capcom Co., Ltd.
It was initially released only for the Nintendo Switch, then released for Microsoft Windows(Steam)in January 2022. It has shipped more than 8 million copies worldwide since launch. In summer 2022, the new content in the massive expansion, “MONSTER HUNTER Rise：Sunbreak,” is scheduled to release too.

The theme is the “Japanese Style”!!
What is the disaster attacking a new land, Kamura Village......!?

For MONSTER HUNTER Rise, it will be developed with a “Japanese style” worldview first time in several series! The most monsters appearing in this game are the ones based on Japanese “monsters” or “ghosts,” which gives it a unique taste to the game!

Here’s entertainment to hunt monsters, still evolving!!

This series is based on hunting, being specialized more in actions, compared to the previous series! But! It’s not that complicated to play so even the beginners can enjoy playing it (at lease this is what I thought after playing it)! If you encounter any quests which you cannot complete, you can ask other players from all around the world or even your friends who are playing it right next to you for a help! This is the best part about this game! You can feel a sense of accomplishment while casually helping with each other!

As for this series, the characters tend to closely involve with the main story, compared to the previous series! So! You will have a special feeling to NPC than you do in the previous series!!
The story is set in Kamura Village, where the steel industry, where they can get steels from mines, is prospered. Although it is a country side, the trading is actively being done.
However, all the villagers have been struggled with “The Rampage” where monsters attack the village once every decade. The Rampage which was occurred 50 years ago, almost ruined the village. On top of that, there’s a phenomenon, where more and more monsters, which were still existing in the village, have become violent, as well.
Is the player able to become a hunter to save the village, getting rid of the Rampage? Is the player going to solve the issues of the Rampage......!?

Hinoa
ヒノエ

She is one of the Wyverian tribes, who lives in Kamura Village.
She is an older sister of her twin sister, Minoto. She works as a “Quest Maiden,” who sends messages to the player, such as requests or worries from the villagers. She is a childhood friend of the player. She is bright and cheerful. Although she is kind and mild, she shows power and courage to fight against the monsters when the crisis comes along.

ミノト

She is one of the Wyverian tribes, who lives in Kamura Village.
She is a younger sister of her twin sister, Hinoa. She works as a “Quest Maiden,” who sends messages to the player, such as requests or worries from the adventurers, Guild. She is a little introvert and always respects and adores her cheerful and kind sister, Hinoa. She tries hard every day so she can be like Hinoa one day. Her sense of drawing is a little unique.

Utsushi
ウツシ

He is the mentor to young hunters in Kamura Village. He mostly teaches fundamental parts to become a hunter. He’s been treating the main protagonists both strictly and kindly. He always supports them well so they can be professional hunters, while being moved by their hard work. He is such a passionate trainer. He can sometimes be a little annoying (too much).

Iori
イオリ

He is a boy who lives in Kamura Village.
He is good at communicating with animals and always introduces assistants for hunting called Palamutes and Palicoes to the main protagonists. He is good at training animals by giving them compliments. The animals love Iori. He loves such hard-working animals too. He is not used to fighting yet, however, he rushes to the village with weapons when the crisis breaks in the village.

Fugen
フゲン

He is the leader of Kamura Village.
He used to be the outstanding hunter and now is a great trainer, although he is still skillful at hunting. He is powerful and cheerful. All the villagers cherish him as if he was their family. He feels very regrettable and responsible from the fact where the previous Rampage almost ruined the village. He has made a decision that he will save the village next time.

Kagero
カゲロウ

He is a merchant, visiting Kamura Village.
He is a mysterious man and nobody knows his true color, however, he is trusted by villagers from his polite and serious attitude.
He was terribly injured before he came to the village and cured by the doctor in the village, Palicoes. He always wants to do something in return, cherishing all the villagers who are both kind and strong.
Other than these characters, there are more of them, trying to help the main protagonists. This story is awesome, where everybody tries hard to get rid of the disaster, helping each other! As for MONSTER HUNTER Series, it’s fun to hunt but we can also enjoy watching the worldview, perfectly created for this game!!!
