【Tougen Anki】Popular as a manga that should be made into an anime! It is a manga that is rapidly gaining attention these days! What kind of work is Tougen Anki?

What is the story of Tougen Anki? ......Before that, I would like to know this fairy tale!

Now, before I explain Tougen Anki, have you ever heard of the Japanese fairy tale Momotaro?

Momotaro is a story about a boy named Momotaro who was born from a peach, raised by an elderly man and an elderly woman, and goes to defeat the oni (ogres) that are troubling the people! On the way, Momotaro shares millet dumplings made by his grandma with a dog, a pheasant, and a monkey to get them to join him in exterminating the ogres that have taken up residence on an isolated island called Onigashima!

Okayama Prefecture in Japan is considered the land where Momotaro was set, and there is a bronze statue in front of the station.

Every Japanese knows the old tale of the extermination of ogres. And in Momotaro, the winner is Momotaro and the loser is an ogre.

The story begins with a scene in which the main character, Shiki, is expelled from high school. Shiki was once an abandoned child who was picked up and raised by a man named Tsuyoshi.

Shiki and Tsuyoshi have spent many years as father and son, even though they are not blood related. One day, suddenly, someone came to “attack” them.

The man says that he is a descendant of Momotaro and that he has come to exterminate the descendants of the ogre. He tells them that the old tale of Momotaro is actually a true story, that ogres and Momotaro's descendants have been fighting each other for thousands of years, and that Shiki is a descendant of the ogres.

Furthermore, he learns that Tsuyoshi, who has been raising Shiki, is actually a descendant of Momotaro, and that he raised Shiki knowing that Shiki is a descendant of an ogre that must be disposed of.

At the end of the fight, Tsuyoshi is mortally wounded. Shiki, seeing this, “awakens” as a Oni (Ogre). He transforms his blood, a special ability of Oni, into a weapon and challenges the battle......!

Shiki, who has awakened as a descendant of the Oni, becomes involved in the battle between the Oni and Momotaro, which continues in secret even in the present day. Shiki then lost Tsuyoshi and was saved by Mudano Naito, a member of the Oni clan and a teacher at an academy that educates students to fight Momotaro's clan.

Shiki will be working with Naito, learning the history of the clan and how to control their power. In the last few years, the Oni clan has lost so much strength that no one can fight properly...... but apparently there are students who are training at the Oni Academy along with Shiki!

Tougen Anki depicts the struggle between these two incompatible forces! Both forces make full use of their own abilities, and each time a spectacular battle ensues! The Oni (ogres) can use their own blood to generate weapons, while the Momotaro can generate weapons with the help of bacteria!

I personally think that this work has the potential to have an anime adaptation announced within 2023! The manga version has been released up to volume 13, and there is enough stock of episodes, so I think this is a work that is about to make a big move!
