It's familiar, but a little bit new! Here is the story of The Super Mario Bros. Movie!

Mario and Luigi are twin brothers who work as plumbers in New York City. they are working in the modern world, but one day they get sucked into a mysterious pipe and get lost in a magical world.
In that world, there was Princess Peach, who ruled the Mushroom Kingdom, and King Bowser Koopa, who wanted to rule the entire world, including the Mushroom Kingdom. Mario and Luigi, together with Princess Peach, try to fight against King Bowser Koopa who is trying to rule the world.
Were Mario and Luigi modern characters?
I seem to recall that they were both set up as plumbers by profession...... I was surprised because it wasn't really mentioned in the game that was released!

Because it is a movie, you can enjoy the personality and characterization of Mario, who is “different” from you!

After watching the film, I was impressed by the kind of character “Mario” was!
Of course, I have played many games in which Mario was the main character, such as RPGs, party games, and racing games! But after watching the movie, I felt that the Mario I had been playing was “half of me!”
Mario in the film is very vivid, and it was very refreshing to see a Mario in the film who thinks like this and talks like this, who should be a character we know as a matter of course, but of whom we know nothing!
The Mario I controlled through the game was indeed Mario, but he rarely showed his will or thoughts. So it was very enjoyable and moving to see the exploits of the “Mario” I could not control, as depicted in the film!
And there were a lot of characters that I have known for a long time, so that was great too! I was very satisfied with the movie because it was exactly what I expected, with many of my favorite elements, rather than a good or bad scenario! Personally, the racing scene in the movie reminded me of the NintendoWorld attraction “Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge” at Universal Studios Japan!
This is not a movie where you need to prepare yourself before watching the movie, i.e., you don't need to know anything to enjoy the story, but there were many scenes and subplots that are quite familiar to those who have played some Mario games! The more Mario games you have played, the more you will enjoy the development and storyline of the movie! If you haven't gone to see the movie yet, please check it out!
