October has arrived, and the last anime season of 2023, the autumn animes, have started airing one after another! Some shows surprised us with unbelievable twists in the first episode, while others gained instant fame with their overwhelming entertainment!

The autumn anime I'd like to introduce today showed us quality that exceeded expectations! I really hope it becomes a topic not only in Japan but also overseas! So, let me introduce it with a bang!

To describe what Paradox Live is about, it's a mixed media work centered around a rap battle in the near future using “phantoms”!

In summary, until now, only drama CDs and group songs had been released. Recently, it started being serialized in comics, so fans didn't have a clear picture of what Paradox Live was like. But finally! In the first episode of the anime, the rap battle using the “phantom” was showcased!

Personally, I was deeply impressed that the anime was three-dimensionally represented using CG! Since it's a musical work, many productions just show live scenes, but it was great to see the anime beautifully expressed in CG!

In simple terms, “Paradox Live” is a rap battle suddenly hosted by a legendary club that was once closed. There are four participating teams, and each of these teams possesses overwhelming rap battle skills, making use of the “Phantom Metal”.

When Phantom Metal comes into contact with the user's DNA, it strongly shows an illusionary phantom. However, as a side effect, it intensely stimulates the trauma that the DNA owner has......! So, how to control this Phantom Metal and how to confront one's own trauma is a turning point in the game...... This part of the story was also mentioned to some extent! It's an interesting work where you can guess what kind of trauma each person has!

Personally, I think it's crucial not to give away too much information but still convey what you want to say effectively! I believe the first episode was clear and easy to understand because of this balanced approach. Since there are four participating teams, I'm really looking forward to the live scenes from episode two onwards! For those who are not yet familiar with Paradox Live, I highly recommend starting from the first episode! I believe it effectively conveys the musical nature of the anime, making it a must-watch!
