What Is SK∞? (Overview)

This series is called “SK Eight.”
It is produced and animated by bones. Inc, which have also produced other animation series such as Boku no Hero Academia (My Hero Academia) or Bungou Stray Dogs.
It’s the original animation with no original adaptation. It starts to premiere in January 2021. A spinout gag manga series, where deformed characters appear, is also being serialized simultaneously.
As for the series, Boku no Hero Academia (My Hero Academia) or Bungou Stray Dogs, their smooth description on action scenes are highly evaluated! So the images of SK∞ are also fantastic because bones.inc, which has produced such series, will be in charge of this series!

What Is SK∞?（Outline）

This story is set in Okinawa with a theme, “skateboarding”!
However, the skateboarding, played on the southern inland, never requires the rules! Interfering other boarders is even allowed. It’s a highly dangerous downhill skateboarding race which takes place in an abandoned mine!

The main protagonist, Kyan Reki, is a 2nd-year high school student.
He loves skateboarding so much that he decides to participate in the race called “S” in the beginning of the story.
“S” is more like the “obstacle race,” where the boarders slide down with the skateboard in an abandoned mine and compete for time. In the venue of the abandoned mine, Shadow, who has made fun or Reki, is waiting for Reki.

Reki challenges Shadow, saying that if he wins, Shadow has to apologize for having made fun of his skateboarding. Shadow accepts the challenge and they fight on the “beef,” or heated battle.
The siren of kicking off the battle echoes throughout the abandoned mine.
When Reki is about to catch up Shadow…… Shadow interferes Reki by setting off firecrackers. Reki ends up losing the battle with his hands being injures and his skateboard being burned.
Next day, while Reki is disappointed, a student named Hasegawa Langa is transferred from Canada and becomes Reki’s classmate.

They run across after school.
Reki, who is practicing to revenge on Shadow, and Langa, who is going home, run across.
Langa, tries to skateboard, borrowing Reki’s old one but……
Langa falls down so badly, not being able to balance himself. Reki, watching him, easily jumps over him with a skateboard.
Langa, who is now interested in skateboarding, starts a part time job at the shop, where Reki’s acquaintance owns. Now they get closer to each other, they get caught up in “S,” an underground skateboard race, but unfortunately, an incident occurs that day.
Surprisingly, Langa ends up racing with Shadow, who then happens to be there! However, Reki’s skateboard is burned and he has no good skateboards.
Langa still stays calm, “fixing the old board to his ankles” and gets ready for the race.
Langa, being laughed at by the crowds, starts to skateboard.
What he sees in front of him is not the abandoned mine but…… something totally different……
Now the race of Langa and Shadow is getting even faster……!
The crowds, who booed earlier, are now focusing on watching their race.
Which is going to win? And what’s the secret hidden in Langa……!?
This race scene by Langa and Shadow was rated so highly! Good speed, good performance…… It was so awesome!! The images were fantastic that they thrilled me a lot! I’m not good at skateboarding…… and I was so amazed that they can skateboard that good even on the bumpy road with that fast speed……!
The beginning of the story focused on characters with good pacing, so it was easy to watch! No wonder this series is rated as “the Best Anime” by those who watched Episode 1!!
