Actually, I was thinking that 2.43: Seiin High School Boys Volleyball Team was the original anime but it looks like its original is a novel! Well, let’s check out more details!

What Is 2.43: Seiin Koukou Danshi Volley-bu?

It’s a Japanese volleyball light novel series written by Kabei Yukako, who has been one of the writers of “K Project” too. It’s been serialized since 2012 and 3 volumes have been released.
In 2018, it’s got comicalized and an anime television series adaptation premiered in January 2021. This series collaborates with Japanese high school volleyball team and 2.43: Seiin Koukou Danshi Volley-bu’s video was even shown on TV when “73th All-Japan Volleyball High School Championship Tounament” aired too.
It’s such an awesome idea that it collaborates with the actual high school volleyball team, huh……? It’s a completely realistic youth volleyball story, where characters struggle and encourage with each other, without any unrealistic element such as superpower or magic!

Storyline of 2.43: Seiin Koukou Danshi Volley-bu!

The main protagonist, Haijima Kimichika, thinks only about the volleyball.
He is transferred to school in Tokyo due to his parents’ work, where he enters a school with such a powerful volleyball team.

However, Haijima Kimichika thinks too much about the volleyball.
He is the most talented volleyball player as a setter, always playing such an active role in every match.
However, due to his unsociable personality…… he starts to have conflicts with other members in the club, ending up committing a suicide.
Being unable to attend school, Haijima Kimichika comes back to his hometown, Fukui Prefecture.
Kuroba Yuni

Kuroba Yuni is one of Haijima Kimichika’s childhood friends.
Since Kimichika has moved into Tokyo, they haven’t been close to each other. However, when Kimichika comes back to Fukui Prefecture, another story begins.
Now they are reunited. However, since that incident occurred in Tokyo, Kimichika has become even more unsociable, always avoiding people. Yuni feels disappointed about it but he tries to ask him to play volleyball together.
They are reunited and now they are the members of the volleyball club together.
Kimichika’s volleyball technique is extremely high in the team. However, Yuni tries to follow him too, even though Yuni is not good at having pressure.
They are reunited and gradually start to understand with each other. And they will play in the last official match in their junior high school days……
The incident occurs in that match.
This story is about the volleyball but it focuses more on their individuality or human drama, I guess! Episode 1 is still an introduction part and the story will officially be developed further after they become high school students……!
